PERSEPSI GURU TAMAN KANAK-KANAK (TK) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PERKEMBANGAN KOGNITIF BAHASA SEBAGAI ASPEK PENTING DALAM KESIAPAN BERSEKOLAH ANAK (SCHOOL READINESS)

Abstract


Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi guru taman kanak-kanak (TK) mengenai pentingnya kesiapan bersekolah anak (school readiness) dalam aspek perkembangan kognitif bahasa. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 (tiga) orang guru TK. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi lapangan dan dianalisis menggunakan grounded-theory. Berdasarkan penelitian, ditemukan bahwa guru TK memiliki persepsi bahwa penting untuk anak memiliki kesiapan bersekolah dalam perkembangan kognitif bahasa meliputi kemampuan literasi dasar, minat huruf/angka dan memori, serta keterampilan berhitung dasar. Guru meyakini bahwa kemampuan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan mendengar dan berbicara sehingga berdampak pada proses membaca, menulis, dan berhitung. Guru juga percaya bahwa kemampuan kognitif bahasa dapat distimulasi melalui kegiatan permainan, bercerita, dan penataan ruang kelas yang berorientasi pada pengenalan literasi/berhitung.
