PERILAKU KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DAN IKLIM SEKOLAH TERHADAP PENINGKATAN MUTU SEKOLAH DI SMK

Abstract


This research is intended to examine the effects of leadership behavior of school principals and school
climate on school quality of Technology and Engineering Vocational Schools (SMK) in Karawang
regency. The method used is descriptive method and analysis. Based on the preliminary study at
vocational schools in Karawang regency, the total population of 96 schools have been accredited
from various felds of expertise are Technology and Engineering, Business and Management,
Agro Business and Agro Industry and Health. This study involved 35 randomly elected vocational
schools. Then to know the number of respondents used stratifed random sampling formula. The
results of data processing and analysis revealed that school quality and leadership behavior of
principals are in high category, While the school climate is included into the category very high.
Principal leadership behavior influences the quality of school, school climate affects the quality
of school and together the leadership behavior of school principals and school climate affect the
quality of school.

 

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menguji pengaruh perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan
iklim sekolah terhadap mutu SMK teknologi dan rekayasa Kabupaten Karawang. Metode yang
digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan analisis. Melalui metode deskriptif, dengan populasi kepada
sekolah pada SMK di Kabupaten Karawang. Berdasarkan pra survey di sekolah SMK di Kabupaten
Karawang tersebut diperoleh jumlah populasi sebanyak 96 SMK yang sudah terakreditasi dari
berbagai bidang keahlian yaitu Teknologi dan Rekayasa, Bisnis dan Manajemen, Agro Bisnis dan
Agro Industri dan Kesehatan. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 35 sekolah SMK teknologi dan
rekayasa se Kabupaten Karawang yang dipilih secara acak. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa
mutu sekolah dan perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah berada pada kategori tinggi, Sedangkan
iklim sekolah termasuk ke dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah
berpengaruh terhadap mutu sekolah, iklim sekolah berpengaruh terhadap mutu sekolah dan secara
bersama-sama perilaku kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan iklim sekolah berpengaruh terhadap
mutu sekolah.
