MODEL KONSELING BERBASIS PETUALANGAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KECERDASAN ADVERSITAS MAHASISWA

Abstract


This study is based on the problem of not optimal student’s adversity intelligence and no adventure based counseling carried out in universities in Indonesia. This study aims at creating adventurebased counseling model to improve the students’ adversity intelligence. This study uses Research and Developement approach consists of four stages such as introductory study, hypothetical model design, model rational validation, and field testing. The sample of the study is the students of Tourism Colleges in Indonesia (STP Bandung, STP Bali, Akpar Medan, and Akpar Makasar) amount to 410 selected by incidental sampling technique. The study finding shows that (1) the adversity intelligence level of Tourism College students is most included in camper category, (2) there is no difference of students’ adversity intelligence based on gender, study program, Grade Point Avarage, and parents’ salary, (3) adventure-based counseling model is assumed to be proper as an intervention model to improve the students’ adversity intelligence, and (4) adventure-based counseling model is proved to be effective to improve the adversity intelligence of Tourism College students in Indonesia. Therefore, adventure-based counseling model is recommended to be applied in developing counseling program in Tourism Colleges in Indonesia to improve the students’ adversity intelligence.

 

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertitik tolak dari adanya permasalahan belum optimalnya kecerdasan adversitas mahasiswa dan belum adanya konseling berbasis petualangan yang dilaksanakan di perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan model konseling berbasis petualangan untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan adversitas mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian dan pengembangan yang terdiri atas empat langkah, yaitu studi pendahuluan, perancangan model hipotetik, validasi rasional model, dan uji coba lapangan. Anggota sampel adalah mahasiswa perguruan tinggi kedinasan pariwisata yang ada di Indonesia (STP Bandung, STP Bali, Akpar Medan, dan Akpar Makasar) berjumlah 410 orang yang dipilih dengan teknik incidental sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) tingkat kecerdasan adversitas sebagian besar mahasiswa Perguruan Tinggi Kedinasan Pariwista di Indonesia berada pada kategori camper, (2) tidak ada perbedaan kecerdasan adversitas mahasiswa berdasarkan jenis kelamin, jurusan, Indeks
Prestasi Belajar (IPK), dan penghasilan orang tua, (3) model konseling berbasis petualangan yang dikembangkan dinilai layak sebagai suatu model intervensi meningkatkan kecerdasan adversitas mahasiswa, dan (4) model konseling berbasis petualangan terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan adversitas mahasiswa Perguruan Tinggi Kedinasan Pariwista di Indonesia. Model konseling berbasis petualangan direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan dalam pengembangan program bimbingan di perguruan tinggi kedinasan pariwisata di Indonesia untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan adversitas mahasiswa.
